Good morning, grazers!

Although I told myself that I won't be making yet another unfulfilled New Year's Resolution list for 2016, I feel strongly about wanting to make small changes in order to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.

So...I figured it would be apt for me to have a go at the 2016 health challenge seeing that Amy and I started A.G. half a year ago. How can we inspire others to live better lives by eating well and keeping fit if there are no changes in ourselves?

A.G.'s 2016 Health Challenge :

  • Eating food with higher nutritional benefits for our bodies (no empty calories!)….we've been doing really well as a team! We've had healthy homemade lunches on time EVERYDAY this week! BIG thanks to our wonderful kitchen team.
  • Exercising at least 2-3 times a week….been to the gym twice this week and it's only Fri
  • Sleeping at least 7 hours a night….mmmm still working on this one hehe
  • Spend daily ‘me' time to meditate, read a book or reflect….there's definitely space for improvement!

In my attempt to eat well, I tried some simple recipes this week and I would like to share my favourite one. Breakfast, widely known as the most important meal of the day, is the meal that kick starts our body "engine" yet it's the most common meal we are all guilty of skipping because we value that extra 15 minutes of sleep more.

Check out my incredibly simple 4 steps breakfast chia pudding bowl. Better still…try making it tonight!

Chia seeds are plant-based food packed full of important nutrients such as fiber, magnesium, zinc, iron, calcium and rich in antioxidants. They are also an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which helps raise HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol that helps protect against scary and evil heart attacks and strokes).

Also, the ladies out there will be extremely happy to know that maintaining a diet high in plant-based foods has also been shown to support a healthy complexion, increased energy, and overall lower weight….SCORE!! It really kept me full and I didn't hear my tummy growl till lunchtime...not once #truestory

Step 1 :

Soak 1/3 cup of chia seeds, 1.5 cups of your favourite milk and 1/3 tsp of pure vanilla extract (optional) overnight. You can use fresh dairy, sugarless soy or sugarless nut milks

Step 2 :

The pudding will be nice and thick the next morning. Simply dress it up with your favourite fruits

Step 3 :

Drizzle some honey if you want a light and natural sweetness to it

Step 4 :

Violaaaa! Devour it ! Actually this shouldn't be counted as a step when it is such an amazing treat to your tummy!

This recipes serves 3. You can refrigerate the leftovers in a container and consume it within the next 2-3 days, though best served fresh.

Okay I hope I've convinced you enough to make a batch of this super nutritious yet easy breakie for the weekend.

Happy Friday, have an amazin' day!
